Protecting and serving Peoria for nearly a century.

The men and women of the Peoria Fire-Medical Department and the members of the Peoria Firefighters Union are always ready to answer our community’s call for help. Whether you’re taking a boat out on Lake Pleasant, trekking one ofthe dozens of pristine desert trails or enjoying an afternoon of Cactus League baseball, the Peoria Firefighters stand committed to ensuring your safety, no matter what. That’s been our story for nearly 100 years.

While a lot has changed since the Peoria Fire Protection District was founded in 1920, our mission remains the same: to protect and care for our neighbors, those who visit our city and each other while maintaining the community’s trust through superior life safety services. We strive to make a positive impact year-round with involvement in charity projects that help families in Peoria and across the Valley.

Together with our fellow chapters in Local 493, the Peoria Firefighters help raise about $1 million for charity annually. To learn more about Peoria Firefighters Charities, we invite you to visit our community service page.
